about-me (1)

I’m a small town girl who grew up in a very humble home with 6 brothers and 2 sisters.

When I was 5 my father was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and the disease turned our world upside down.  With Daddy in a wheelchair, my mother had to quickly get an education so that she could put food in all of our bellies. With incredible odds stacked against her, she got a PhD in Child Psychology because Mama loves the HARD kids.

And just like mama, children are my happy place.  I graduated from Utah State University in Early Childhood Education. I LOVE teaching children. Learning how they see the world around them has allowed me to keep my eyes wide open, look at things from a different point of view, and embrace wonder and silliness.

After starting a family of my own, struggling with the demands of parenthood, and not finding the resources that I needed when I needed them, I decided to BECOME THE RESOURCE.

In 2017 I founded @simplyonpurpose where I share life-changing parenting truths with as many as will listen. Since its birth this journey has become my biggest dream come true.  I am now speaking to hundreds of parents each time I travel for a workshop. Social media is allowing me to be a part of over 600,000 homes. Most of all, I get to watch from a bird’s eye view as the world changes, one child at a time.

Call it a purpose, a blessing, a gift, whatever you’d like, but children are my life’s work.

And the only way to change a child’s life for good FOREVER, is to teach YOU. I’m here, friend.  And so are you.

Are you ready to learn? Let’s go!

Positive Parenting is just like it sounds.

Through behavioral and brain science we’ve learned that the best way to get rid of misbehavior in a home is to look for things that your children are doing well and make those behaviors stronger through positive reinforcement.

It’s building on a child’s strengths and believing in the potential within.

Because when a child feels well, they behave well.

Simply on Purpose has given my husband and I the opportunity to get on the same page about parenting and have a focused team effort in our home. We laugh more and communicate more clearly.
