The Yoto Player: Everything I Love About My Kid’s Favorite Audio Player

Here’s what I love about Yoto, a screen-free audio player for all ages.

What is a Yoto Player?

A Yoto Player is a child-directed interactive audio player designed especially for little hands and growing minds.

With its child-friendly interface, the Yoto Player creates a delightful, screen-free entertainment and learning tool for kids.

3 Unique Yoto Player Features

The Yoto Player is truly one-of-a-kind, because of these kid-friendly and parent-approved features.

1. Endless Variety of Content

This compact audio player allows kids to explore a wide range of audio content:

  • audiobooks (my favorites are listed below)
  • music
  • educational programs
  • podcasts
  • sleep sounds
  • meditations
  • family radio stations
  • fun sounds (like a campfire!)
  • and you can even “Make Your Own”

2. Parental Controls

Parents can confidently manage content remotely through a secure app, ensuring a safe and age-appropriate experience for their little ones.

Here in the app parents can also set time limits and adjust night-light and alarm clock features.

The Yoto app also holds all of your purchased audio, so you will never be without a story!

3. Physical Cards

With a focus on screen-free interactivity, the Yoto Player utilizes physical cards, each representing a different story, music, or educational content.

(Think of these like a cassette tape or CD of yesteryear).

Each card features captivating artwork corresponding to the book, music, or sound.

This allows even toddlers to easily access and play their desired story!

Just insert a card into the top slot, and a story (or podcast, song, meditation) will instantly begin playing.

What I Love About Yoto

Besides being a wonderful source of screen-free entertainment, I love that the Yoto Player promotes independent learning, creativity, and imaginative play.

Because my child can use the device and cards on her own, she is learning to take ownership of the device and also her child-directed play.

We love using the Yoto Player during quiet time, traveling in the car, and calming down at bedtime.

Recommended Yoto Cards

The Yoto Card library has options for everyone! New books are added all the time for listeners from 0-9+ years old.
